Schleek
Luxembourgish
Etymology
From Old High German slecko, from Proto-West Germanic *slikkō. Cognate with Dutch slak. The expected form would be Schleck (attested dialectally). The long vowel possibly through confluence with Old High German snagil, which would yield Luxembourgish *Schneel and survives as such in parts of Moselle Franconian.
