Wraios

Translingual

Etymology

Borrowed from Ancient Greek ὡραῖος (hōraîos, seasonable, timely), though not recognizing the spiritus asper and using an unorthodox, non-Latinate transliteration.

Coined by arachnologist Francesco Ballarin and by Chinese zoologist Shuqiang Li in 2015.

Proper noun

Wraios m

  1. A taxonomic genus within the family Nesticidae – Wraios longiembolus; certain araneoid spiders of western China.
