airplane mode (countable and uncountable, plural airplane modes)
- A feature of some cellular phones and computers that disables the radio, thus precluding any interference with avionics and allowing the phone's stand-alone features (such as its games or scheduler) to be used safely in environments requiring minimal radio interference.
