Etymology
From Ancient Greek ἀνα- (ana-, “up to, thoroughly”) + σάρξ (sárx, “flesh, body”), short for ὕδρωψ ἀνὰ σάρκα (húdrōps anà sárka, literally “dropsy throughout the flesh”). Compare hyposarca.
