Etymology

The original meaning is related to lëkurë (skin) and cullak (naked). Etymologically related to cullnik (shpeherd's leather bag), both from an earlier form *cul-nik with the regular ln transformation into palatal l, and u into ë and later into a (similar to urdh into ardhi and luguruzhdë into garuzhdë), from cull (child).[1]
