clobber passage (plural clobber passages)

  1. (Christianity, LGBTQ, informal) Any of a number of passages in the Bible that may be interpreted as clear condemnations of homosexuality: usually Genesis 19:1-38; Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 1 Timothy 1:9-10; Jude 6-7; and Romans 1:25-27.

  2. (Christianity, Ordination of women, informal) Any of a number of passages in the Bible that may be interpreted as clear condemnations of women being ordained as ministers of the church or preaching to mixed-sex congregations.
