dideuterium

English

Noun

dideuterium (uncountable)

  1. A molecule composed of two deuterium atoms, or matter composed of such molecules. Symbol: 2H2 or D2.

Usage notes

The chemical symbol for deuterium should be 2H, rather than D;[1] to prevent problems in alphabetical sorting of formulae. Likewise, tritium should be called 3H, rather than T.
