  1. (biochemistry) Any glucanase/cellulase that is active within the organism that produced it.
  2. Any glucanase/cellulase that cleaves internal glycoside bonds in a glucose polymer, as opposed to clipping off a terminal glucose from one end of a polymeric chain.
