foodist

English

Etymology

From food +‎ -ist.[1] Piecewise doublet of foodista.

Noun

foodist (plural foodists)

  1. A person who is very interested in food; a foodie.
    • 2010, Tony Naylor, Should we all be shopping at Waitrose? (in The Guardian online: [1])
But questions remain. Is Waitrose prohibitively expensive? If it costs more, is it worth it? Is it, genuinely, the foodist's supermarket?
  2. A person who discriminates against other people because of the food they eat.
