Etymology
Inherited from Old Norse gagl n, probably related to English gaggle, Dutch gaggelen and Proto-Slavic *gogoľь. Attested as both Gaglerne (definite plural) and Gaul by Hans Jacob Wille in 1786 in his book about Seljord.
