Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *seksti, from Proto-Indo-European *swéḱs. Alternatively reconstructed as Proto-Albanian *ɟʲaśtā, from Pre-Proto-Albanian *źeśtā. This then comes from a PIE *séḱs-t-, from *su̯éḱs-t-, a prefixed form of *swéḱs meaning "group of six".[1]
