Cimbrian

Etymology

From Middle High German hellec (exhausted, thirsty). Cognate with obsolete German hellig (exhausted, thirsty”, also “discontent, recalcitrant), Dutch hellig (angry). Probably related with Middle High German hel (weak) and/or Middle Dutch hael (parched, droughty), and further perhaps with Latin callus, Proto-Slavic *kaliti.
