1. An unorganized, limited or non-representative collection of related things.

• A more organized or extensive collection would be called kokoelma, although there's no clear distinction. Actually, most speakers make no distinction at all, and use the term kokoelma of both. Kokoelma gets about 1,500 times as many hits in a Google search as keräelmä (August 2013).
• The Finnish Literature Society defines keräelmä for their archiving purposes as:

  Kaikille aineistotyypeille yhteinen perusluettelointiyksikkö on keräelmä, jolla tarkoitetaan kerääjältä tai luovuttajalta kerralla saatavaa käsikirjoitus-, kuva- tai ääniteaineistoa.

  A basic cataloguing unit for all types of archived material; the set of handwritings, pictures or recordings received from one donator or collector at one time.
