  • Dominant pronunciation in the Savonian dialects, some South Karelian dialects and in North Ostrobothnian dialects south of Oulu.
  • Inflections differ by dialect.
    • A form without gradation (plural mehtät) is more common especially North Ostrobothnia and Central Finland.
    • A form with the gradation of ht : t (plural metät) is common in North Savonia, North Karelia and Kainuu.
    • A form with the gradation of ht : h (plural mehät) is common in the Savonlinna transitional dialects, in some of the South Karelian dialects and western North Savonia.
