Cognate with Old Frisian ōther half (West Frisian oardeheal), Old Saxon ōthar half (Low German annerthalf), Old Dutch *andar half (Dutch anderhalf), Old High German andar halb (German anderthalb), Old Norse halfr annarr (Danish halvanden and Swedish halvannan).
