polem
See also: pólem
Albanian
Etymology
Coined by Pjetër Bogdani.[1] From po- + lem (Gheg past participle of lej (“I give birth, I am born”)). The use of the participle lem while there is another word, lem, that also means people but is seemingly unrelated etymologically, may be coincidental.
