Etymology
A derivative of an unattested verb *qyej (“to blunt”), from Proto-Albanian *kēnja, from Proto-Indo-European *ken- (“to scratch, to cut”). For the semantic development compare Latin obtũsus (“blunt”) from obtundere (“to beat”).[1] See also qytë.
