Etymology
Unadapted borrowing from Arabic سَجَّادَة (sajjāda, “prayer rug”). The insertion of the final /n/ in variants is perhaps influenced by other Philippine languages in Mindanao. Compare Tausug sudjara, Indonesian sajadah, and Malay sejadah. See also -an suffix.
