saucijs
Dutch
Etymology
From Middle Dutch *salcijs (attested in the plural as salcijsken), ultimately from Late Latin salsīcia, either directly or- more likely- via Old French salcice. The modern form with /ɑu̯~oː/ appears to have been influenced by later French saucisse.
