schizoid psychopathy

English

Noun

schizoid psychopathy (uncountable)

  1. (historical, psychiatry) someone with schizoid personality disorder

Usage notes

  • In early Soviet-era psychological literature "psychopathy" used to be an old umbrella term for what is now called personality disorders, in the literal meaning of the word, without the implied connection to what's now called ASPD or psychopathy
  • The term was used in 1925 by the Russian psychiatrist Grunya Sukhareva to describe a group of children
  • This mental illness, however, is no longer acknowledged as a clinical entity by any organization or diagnostic manual
