   spējīgs students, skolnieks ― a capable student, pupil

   spējīgs dziedāt, strādāt ― capable of singing, of working

   darba spējīgs, darbaspējīgs ― capable of working

   viņš ir uz visu spējīgs ― he is capable of anything (= he is capable of evil things, he is to be feared)

   viņš līdz šim strādāja manā laboratorijā; ļoti spējīgs, arī kā cilvēks lielisks ― he has worked until now in my laboratory; (he is) very capable, skilled, also great as a person (= a great guy)

   skolotājs noorganizē spējīgāko audzēkņu grupu, kura mācās zīmēt sarežģītākas figūras, ģipša modeļus ― the teacher organized a group of more capable students, who learn to draw more complex figures, plaster models
