Contraction of thorium emanation.

Noun

thoron (uncountable)

  1. (physics) Radon-220 (22086Rn; symbol Tn), an isotope of radon
  2. (organic chemistry) Alternative form of thorin (C16H11AsN2O10S2.2Na).

While the chemical symbol "Tn" was at some point assigned to the isotope thoron, said isotope of radon is perhaps better called by the symbol 220Rn, to make it clear that it is an isotope of radon with said mass number.
