Usage notes
Norwegian (and Swedish) has two tonemes named tonem 1 (in Bokmål enstavelses tonelag or enkelt tonelag) and tonem 2 (in Bokmål tostavelses tonelag or dobbelt tonelag). Tonem 1 has a descending pitch (example: landet and bønder) and tonem 2 has an ascending pitch (example: lande and bønner. Note! Both examples are limited to dialects where the d is silent).
