  • Although the Orthographic Form of 1943,[1] the Orthographic Agreement of 1945[2] and the Portuguese Language Orthographic Agreement of 1990[3] prescribe the spellings usbeque and Usbequistão, the spellings with z have been more common according to Corpus do Português, and most dictionaries and vocabularies accept both options.
