- In her investigations on the viroses of tobacco and potato and on cucumber mosaic in solanaceous hosts, Hoggan showed that the presence or absence of vacuolate bodies , and in some cases the combined presence of vacuolate bodies and striate material have undoubted value for the identification of certain viroses.
