Transliteration of Greek βράκα (vráka),[1] from Byzantine Greek βράκα (bráka),[2] a singular feminine noun from the Hellenistic plural of Koine Greek βράκες (brákes),[3] from Latin brācae (singular brāca). Doublet of breech.
