zdáli
Czech
Pronunciation
- IPA(key): [ˈzdaːlɪ]
Etymology 1
Inherited from Old Czech vzdáľu, from vz + dále.
Adverb
zdáli
Usage notes
- These words under the See also come originally from the Old Czech preposition "vz" that used to govern accusative ("vz tu dáľu"). Today, it became "z" which is a Czech preposition that governs genitive, so all these words sound a little weird and incorrect (as the genitive would sound "z té dále"). The adverb "zdáli" is the only one commonly used today. The other ones are rare or archaic.
