I have a TableLayout and i want the elements inside(each table row has a text view in it) to be focused ontouch. I set focusable attribute of each element to true but it does not work !

I want each element to be focuses when the user touches it, any idea why its not working here?

Create selector for your listview item, and set its parameters, for example:

<item android:drawable="@drawable/but" android:state_pressed="false" android:state_selected="false"/>
<item android:drawable="@drawable/butpressed" android:state_pressed="true"/>
<item android:drawable="@drawable/butpressed" android:state_pressed="false" android:state_selected="true"/>

In the example I change the picture, but you can set any other parameter

  • You should define the image in selector in android:drawable and set selector as android:src="@drawable/...". The exception you showed means that you've made an error in selector or in defining it in your xml-layout – SVS Oct 03 '12 at 13:59
  • It looks ok. Try to kill useless methods in your XML, problem might be in this. And you'd better use styles in order to make your XML readable. – SVS Oct 04 '12 at 06:45
