Notice: Undefined index: username in C:\xampp\htdocs\index.php on line 4

Question

Hello All firstly I would like to thank you for your time, I am having to do this for college (web server scripting unit p4) this is my simple log in but cannot get it up and running keep getting the error message: Notice: Undefined index: username in C:\xampp\htdocs\index.php on line 4

Here is my code:

Replace `if($_POST["username"])` with `if(isset($_POST["username"]))` — Lal, Aug 19 '15 at 17:06
there is no `username` that is coming in `$_POST` and that is why you are getting that error.. — Lal, Aug 19 '15 at 17:07
you can always see the post data in PHP using `var_dump($_POST);` — Lal, Aug 19 '15 at 17:07

$_POST might not have any index named "name". Use isset($_POST["name"]) to check if the index exists.

I have now done that and I get no errors but I cant see anything at all ? anyone know why? – stephenconlon Aug 19 '15 at 17:29
