I'm trying to use the call method within python, how do I pipe something in (l | grep c++)?

Based on Python subprocess command with pipe
s = subprocess.Popen(["l"], stdout=subprocess.PIPE)
output = subprocess.check_output(("grep", "c++"), stdin=s.stdout)
