Possible solutions:
- Open your
core_config_datatable inphpMyAdminand make sure you have changed the URLs if not than changeweb/unsecure/base_urlandweb/secure/base_urlwith your appropriate domain url (trailing slash necessary) likehttp://www.example.com/ - Incorrect permissions on
var/session, preventing session files from being saved. So set0777permissions to var folder. The
cookiedomain inSystem -> Configuration -> Web -> Session Cookie Management
doesn't match the actual site domain
- Clear contents from var/cache,
var/sessiondirectories after changingbase_urlsthrough ftp - You can refer Can't log in to Magento Admin

after deleting local.xml, how do you mean (Re-install your project) at step 3. At step 4, which changes should I make to .htaccess – Niang Moore Dec 26 '16 at 06:59
