I m wondering that what will happen if I update windows 7 to windows 10 in pc where windows 10 already installed but not activated, I want to do this cuz my windows 7 is activated and I don't want to buy windows 10(side note ms still giving free update to Windows 10 until 31st Dec) and which edition of win 10 will i get i have win 7 ultimate

The free upgrade offer expired back on July 29th. You would be only eligible for the current offer, which is only valid if you use assistive technologies, which of course expired on December 31 2017.

If you upgrade your Windows 7 installation to Windows 10, then you will be left with an activated Windows 10 Professional installation, and inactivated copy of an unknown edition of Windows 10.
