I got SATA Hard Disk Drive (HDD) from a friend, but it is locked with a user password. Neither of us know the user password or the master password.

I don't care about the data inside. How do I unlock the drive so that I can use it?

If the hard drive has been locked with a password, you may not be able to format it. That is one of the purposes of the lock. So the hard drive may not be of any use without the password. This is the case in the majority of the cases.
