General problem: I want to restore deleted file from Garmin Watch. I have Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2. Activity file seems to be deleted by the software itself. It was there fully functional, just not synced to online server. Then gone after a day.

I have tried to use file recovery software like EasyUS, AnyRecovery, Stellar. Seems like it can recover files only from devices that appear like a drive in Windows - with assigned letter.

Garmin Watch appear as an 'External device' with 'Internal Storage'. I assume that's why it's not discoverable by the software.

The path to the device "This PC\EPIX PRO - 47mm\Internal Storage\GARMIN" I would like to make it as "[drive letter]\GARMIN"

Is it possible? Is there a better way to restore deleted file from external device?

It sounds like the Garmin device probably uses Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) to connect to the PC. This does not allow file recovery tools direct sector access, thus you will not be able to use undelete type and file recovery tools with this device.

For example modern Android devices have the same problem, where older Android devices offered the option to be configured so that Windows detected them as a storage device, example: https://youtu.be/A78VoOrPWbM?t=61

IF a device is detected as storage device can be checked in Disk Management. If Disk Management 'sees' the physical device you may assume it's in mass storage mode and file recovery tools will be able to work with it whether it has a drive letter assigned or not. Windows may not assign drive letters if the file system is not one Windows can work with.

IOW, this is not a Windows issue, this is an issue of how the device presents itself to the outside World. Only if a device can be persuaded to switch to "mass storage" so it presents itself as a drive, file recovery tools like the ones you tried can be used, see https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=8ynrURpVl94HLocPUSJhH7
