Would someone familiar with rclone kindly outline a recipe to make rclone simply locally backup a source directory tree (i.e. not to a cloud destination), while encrypting each destination file e.g. using something like 7Zip ? I have been unable to find an example in the rclone docs.

I guess I will need to run rclone config to setup an appropriate config, then run some different rclone command(s) to scan and mirror D:\docs to E:\docs.crypt. However when I run rclone config, I see no option for targeting a local folder or USB stick for the destination.

(BTW I currently use cryptsync to create an encrypted mirror of D:\docs at E:\docs.crypt, and separately sync this crypted folder to a cloud backup like OneDrive, so that only encrypted files are at risk on the cloud. I understand that rclone can do the cloud backups, but I want to start off by using rclone to replace cryptsync for maintaining the encryted mirror on the external drive. Baby steps..)

Thanks for any help.
