Fast startup suddenly stopped working on my pc. It is enabled but not works. I tried SFC DISM CHKDSK commands and clean boot and clear prefetch folder. Updating all drivers and BIOS and enable/disable fast startup and hibernate from powercfg. The problem is not fix at all and it is very annoying.
In event viewer there is no error related to this issue. everytime I click shutdown button or even through shutdown /s /hybrid system always performs full shutdown. Before it was working and I don't know really what happened because no problem was reported in event viewer just the boot type changed to 0x0 instead of 0x1. Also powercfg /a reports sleep s3 and fast startup both are available. Sleep working fine like before but fast startup strangely not working.
There was no windows update or program installation on the day of this problem has happened. please help me what can I do to fix this problem.
Also, I decided to test Windows Hibernate mode. To my surprise, the system shuts down and starts up exactly like fast startup and boots up very quickly, just like I remember when fast startup was working.
Right now the only strange thing is why fast startup itself is not working and when the shutdown option is selected, the system shuts down as a full shutdown.
This is a Windows bug and I don't think it has anything to do with drivers or BIOS, because if it did, hibernation shouldn't have worked either.
