Windows 11 might park CPU due to power management. I want to disable that and have all my cores running.

I found a tutorial stating to

  • run regedit
    • Ctrl + R
    • regedit
    • Enter
  • navigate to key
    • Ctrl + F
    • copy-paste registry key:
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\0cc5b647-c1df-4637-891a-dec35c318583
    • Enter
    • change Attributes from 1 to 0 (Hex)

Then it claims I should see an option in the advanced power settings to control to disable parking of CPUs, yet I see no such feature. (This might be due to the fact that the tutorial was written for Windows10, I am using Windows11.)

Cannot disable parking despite registry change

How to prevent Windows 11 to park any CPU?

If you want to unpark your cores, you can use ParkControl. In my case I have an Intel Ultra 5 135U, which without ParkControl, almost every cores are parked even the performances cores.

ParkControl settings to unpark cores

Use the same settings from the screenshot provided to unpark the parked cores. You can download this application from this website : https://bitsum.com/parkcontrol/
