When I click on a shared folder in Windows File Explorer, and the folder is unreachable (e.g., the network drive is disconnected or the server is down), Windows keeps trying to connect for a really long time before finally timing out. This causes Explorer to freeze for several seconds or even minutes.
I would like to reduce the timeout so that Windows quickly determines that the folder is unreachable (ideally within 5 seconds) instead of waiting for a long period.
Found this related question, already tried what they suggest but it doesn't work.
