How can I get google password manager features like autofill and passkeys working in Microsoft Edge? I browsed the add-on store but found neither an official plugin nor an inofficial one that seems to cover this gap.

This old reddit post indicates that Edge is missing such a feature, but is this actually still true in 2025?

Edge uses the Chromium codebase as its main core, but then implements its own customizations on top of this. It is NOT a Chrome-clone: it is a Chromium-based browser.

There is not the Google-service integration in Edge that you find in Chrome. There is, instead, Microsoft-service integration is what you'll find in Edge.

It's possible you could find plugins that bring Google services into the Edge browser, but these will not function in the same deeply-integrated way core browser features do.

If you use and prefer Google services to be deeply integrated into your browser, and you're OK with Google having all that data about you, use Chrome. If you use and prefer Microsoft services to be deeply integrated into your browser, and you're OK with Microsoft having all that data about you, use Edge.
