I recently got a new MIOP network driver for my Mixtile Cluster Box, but after installing it and rebooting the system, I'm receiving such an error message in the syslog of the baseboard management controller:
[ 504.173322] miop 0000:06:00.0: DMA timeout, restart DMA controller.
I get one such message every three seconds. This starts maybe a minute after booting the cluster, and never ends.
The controller contains a Mediatek MT7620A CPU and an ASM 2824 PCIe switch connecting the compute modules to each other and to the BMC. The O/S is an adapted version of OpenWRT. The internal network no longer works after installing the abovementioned driver.
What causes such issues? And: How can I get rid of them? Unfortunately, the MIOP driver is closed-source, so I can't analyse its code.
