Have an HP M476nw which is throwing a 59.F0 fault. I have removed and cleaned the transport belt which is the normal cause of this error. The Service Manual suggests using the control panel to print the diagnostics pages but I don’t see any “diagnostics” option or report. I can get to the secondary service menu but no diagnostics.

Have also tried firmware update with DCCV1_51.prn file but this doesn’t seem to apply properly as far as I can tell.

Sometimes upon boot the printer displays an “Initializing” message and then works fine with no error, other times it boots without that and then hits the error. This leads me to believe that it might be more of a firmware issue rather than a hardware one.

Update 1 - further information:

Printer event log shows error 59.0240 - Transfer alientation failure

Diagnostics report shows:

Register 02 A-I = all zeros, Register 04 A-I = all zeros

Update 2: Having striped down the printer and put it back together again I now have the problem of it continuously displaying "Initializing". Have tried two different methods of updating the firmware but neither seem to work.

Update 3: Forget the above, found a way to reset the internal disk drive which has now solved the initialization error and allow the printer to boot fully. Just left with the same 59.F0 fault.

What is the 59.00.F0 error?

Print error. Printer boots up to a 59.F0 Error and is unable to print. This behavior may be caused by one of the following two conditions:

  1. Transfer belt is stuck and cannot rotate.
  2. Sensor SR17 (primary transfer-roller-disengagement) is bad.

Your issue have not to do with firmware update. You must verify the components I listed above.
