I have about 150 albums' worth of .mp3 files I ripped using abcde on Ubuntu 24.04 over a three-week period only to discover after the fact that abcde wasn't including track number metadata, so I can't actually play any of these files as albums.

Is there a convenient way to go back and retroactively retrieve metadata for these files? I've looked at MusicBrainz and installed their Picard application, but even it doesn't seem to provide an automated way to fix abcde's failure. Its Quick Start even says "You should note - Picard is not built to be a mass single-track tag fixer," so I guess it can't do this.

Is there any other way to script a connection to one of the major databases to fill in the missing track number information, or am I once again stuck up shit creek for assuming a piece open source software would work in a normal, intuitive manner? I'm looking for something that won't take as long as adding them all manually.
