I've been a geek for a LONG TIME!

There is a lot I know about deeply technical software and hardware information, but ther is a LOT I DON'T KNOW!

Try not to laugh at any of my naive questions, and please afford me the generous help I've grown accustomed to from fellow geeks helping fellow geeks.

I am a Mac user but not a Microsoft or Windows hater. In fact, I have Windows 7 (if, hypothetically, I have 8 installed, I wouldn't tell ;) ) installed on its own dedicated drive, as well as Windows running under Mac OS X Lion via Parallels 7.

An aspect where Windows PCs are clearly superior to Macs is in graphics card support, and particularly GPU parallel processing (SLI, CrossFireX) which now allows FOUR! identical cards to work in parallel.

This makes NO SENSE when Apple pursues software technologies like Grand Central Dispatch, their Open Sourced libdispatch, and OpenCL. It makes even less sense if you consider that if there was one attribute that average people USED TO associate with Apple computers, it was GRAPHICS. Apparently they've meritlessly ceded this distinction.

FWIW, past interests have included the Atari 400/800, Atari ST and Amiga.
