My work is; electronics engineer

I have been making things since before I went to school. Had my first computer in about 1979 an Acorn Atom. I am quite good with DOS now windows XP.

My interest in Linux is to see if it is safe enough for me to use instead of windows without loosing all my work. I have seen some versions of Linux loose my window partition even though I had taken care to avoid that. Gparted did not restore the partition.

My computer is an IBM xSeries 206m 64 bit 1GB DRAM But I use it as a desktop
