I worked as an IT Forensics Tech, amongst other things (Software developer for 38 years, worked in Africa, Australia, USA, and UK). Searching for things became an addiction, but somehow when you get older such experience is discounted and the highest level they're comfortable talking with you is how high the lawn should be cut.
Anyhow, I love having things to find, but now the challenge is to find things that need found.
In my other life I ride motorcycles long distance, over mountains, through rivers. I chose that hobby because I needed something that would force me to stop going on and on about that little bug I had introduced and coming up with a million answers on my one week's leave. If you don't focus whilst riding a 200kg object in inhospitable places, you don't get home. To date the count is 240 000km, and I spent February 2025 riding 1400km along the Himalayas in Northern India.
