I am an early user of computers - from 1978 with punch cards on a PDP11, to my first FORTRAN programs on a VAX in the early 80's, SPSS on the mainframe at university, to Basic and Assembly on embedded systems, to my first XP Turbo, then it just went from there. I had my first web site (www.memx.com) in August 1996 and sold it to a nano technology Sandia Labs spinoff with the same name in 2000. I have been riding the technology wave a while with start-ups and mostly my own companies - one of which went public. I am currently running Nexas Networks Inc. (www.nexasnet.com) and writing sporadically in a blog called "CIM Today" at nexasnet.blogspot.ca about automating the manufacturing floor better. I also run a group called the Advanced Technology Think Tank (see www.attt.ca) and play in a semi-professional orchestra (www.symphonyonthebay.ca) and help with open standards (www.mtconnect.org) for fun...
