Remove barrel and cylinder assembly from sliding block

  • 1. Slotted setscrew fastening the rapid traversal shaft in gear spindle.

  • 2. Raise the left side of the machine and support on a block. Using a 4 mm wrench remove the rearmost M5 x 25 mm screw fastening the gear carrier to the chassis.

  • 12. Before removing the barrel, rotate the large handwheel to bring the handle toward the rear of the machine. Set the brake. Insert a stopper or similar object to support the sliding block.

Caution: the barrel & cylinder assembly weighs approximately 3 kg. Before removing or replacing the assembly, be sure the brake below the handwheel is set. A dent or nick in an edge or surface can interfere with reassembly or operation. Withdraw or insert the assembly relative to the sliding block without twisting, tilting or forcing. Take care to avoid kinking the flexible shaft or distorting the lever tension spring. The link block will disengage from the track in the barrel.
