Quarter-Tone Harmony
This book discusses harmonic and melodic music theory in the quarter-tone system, an extended, microtonal musical system with twenty-four notes in every octave rather than the conventional twelve. This book is intended for those already familiar with conventional music theory concepts; consult the Music Theory book if need be.
Specifically, this book uses an approach similar to the seminal work by composer Ivan Wyschnegradsky, the Manual of Quarter-Tone Harmony, although with some extra sections and expanded points. Various references to him and his Manual will be made in this book; although a copy of the Manual makes for great supplemental reading, it is not required to use this book.
