- Holotype: SAMA M7664, adult ♂, skull and dentaries, bofy in alcohol, collected by P. Tiggerman on 29 April 1969.
- Type locality: “'Section 146 Hundreds of Cassini, Kangaroo Island South Australia' (35°35'S, 137°19'E)”.
