Note: Although the species is universally accepted, the sub-species circumscription differs between various sources. The above represents the most comprehensive accepted by POWO (2025) and there appears to be no clear consensus. Although Vazquez-Sanchez et al. (2019) found the subspecies not to be monophyletic, they could not recommend changes until more work has been undertaken.
